Client-server architecture The client-server architecture allows for the organization of translation quickly and easily at every stage. All system preferences are stored on the server. The users can access the resources on the server based on your corporate regulations, chosen licensing model, and the number of purchased licenses. The user workstations only have the client-side software (the desktop application). The server-side solution includes:
- Common access to the translation kernel
- Common access to specialized and user dictionaries
- Common access to corporate Translation Memory databases
- Centralized administration of linguistic resources, and access to them.
Centralized administration The administration module allows for centralized control of users’ access to the applications of the translation suite and to translation directions. A system administrator can assign individual access rights to the translation system for each user and create user groups based on these access rights. Depending on which group a user belongs to (System Administrators, Managers of Linguistic Resources, or All Users), he will have a set of access rights in accordance with your corporate regulations.
Access to all translation features from any workstation in your company Client-side applications of PROMT NET Professional 9.0 can be installed on any computer in your company that meets the system requirements. An administrator can also control the installation process for client-site workplaces directly from the server. This allows him to perform remote installations on a client computer outside the main office of the company.
Support for teamwork of employees working within the office and outside of it PROMT NET Professional 9.0 supports synchronization of data between desktop computers and portable computers, as well as data stored on the server. Changes in user dictionaries or profile templates made on a local computer will be automatically saved on the server. For example, having returned from a business trip or vacation, an employee can connect to the local network and download the updated dictionaries from the server. Similarly, he can upload new dictionaries or settings for working with profiles to the server.
